I've tried lots of different "diets" or ways to lose weight. The low-carb diet works for about a week. I lost weight but I was miserable. Really it was just a lot of water weight that I lost. And how long can you reasonably stay on a diet like that? For me, not long at all. The carb cravings were intense, and it put me into really bad moods.
I tried counting points with Weight Watchers. I lost some weight doing that, but I would either "forget" to write things down or I would starve myself to save points and then binge. I could tell that it wasn't working for me. I gained that back too. Weight Watchers doesn't teach you how to eat the right way. You could have all your points in pizza and ice cream and still be following their plan. This does not make you lose weight. Ask me how I know :-)
The worst was the pre-packaged meals. Yes, I lost some weight, however, it's not easy making the switch to "real food". The portions are so tightly controlled and the calories are so measured that you just can't stay on that kind of diet indefinately unless you have someone making your meals and delivering them right to you, What do you do if you're traveling or no longer want the expense? What about dinners out or having dinner at someones house. . . will you bring your own food? Not likely. Obviously, this was not a long term diet I could be on.
I wanted what everyone else wants.. . an easy, effortless way to be thin, healthy and feel fabulous without spending a lot of time and money.
